BGP PROBLEM HELP
I have 4 routers in the remote-as 5500
R1 ,R2 , R3 ,R4 full mesh with loopback each router by it's number loopback o .
R4 serial 1/0 connect with R5 remote-as [777 ]by ebgp serial 1/0 for each router netwrok 172.16.16.0
my configuratoion
1/ in the area 5500 ibgp by peer group neelk
R1 as example
neighbour neelk peer-group remote-as 5500
neighbour neelk peer-group update-source loo 0
neighbour neelk peer-group next-hop-self
neighbour 2.2.2.2 peergroup neelk
neighbour 3.3.3.3 peergroup neelk
neighbour 4.4.4.4 peergroup neelk

ping 2.2.2.2 .... successed
ping 3.3.3.3 .... successed
ping 4.4.4.4 .... successed
from R5
I advertised loopback 5.5.5.5 mask 255.255.255.255
when ping from R1
ping 5.5.5.5 fail
all the router
no syn
no auto
when advertised loopback 0 of the the routers int the remote-as 5500
R1
R*> 2.2.2.2
R*> 3.3.3.3
AD higher
but the ping 5.5.5.5 .... successed
first when the dark spot
second who to solve RIB
a week dealing with is dilemma but I failllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll llllllllll

OK i faced this problem for long period:
1) put next-hop-self in R4 for both R1 and R5
2) when you make ping use extended ping i mean:
ping
ip protocol:
Destination address: 5.5.5.5
extend: yes
source address:1.1.1.1
make sure before ping you advertised 1.1.1.1
it will work fine
For the RIP problem i think you have static route for the same destination your advertised by bgp so remove the static route and rip will clear
