يبدو ان Intel بدأت تفكر فعليا فى موضوع الدعم العكسى للمعالجات
فجأت بأنباء جديدة عن Cross Compatibility لسوكيت LGA 1155
ما تم تأكيده من Intel ان معالجات Sandy Bridge الحالية ستكون متوافقة مع لوحات Ivy Bridge القادمة بسوكيت LGA 1155 و اطقم رقاقات من العائلة السبعة Family 7 Series تحت اسم Panther Point
It's not going to be any issues putting a Sandy Bridge based processor into a Panther Point chipset motherboard, as the new platform is most definitely backwards compatible with older CPUs
الجدير بالذكر ان معالجات Sandy Bridge تستخدم رقاقات Cougar Point بسوكيت LGA 1155
و معالجات Ivy Bridge تستخدم رقاقات Panther Point بسوكيت LGA 1155
الفرق بين Panther و Cougar Point حتى الان هو دعم Native USB 3.0 + دعم DX11 + دعم عددة شاشات
Intel اعربت عن رغبتها و اجتهادها بأن معالجات Ivy Bridge تكون متوافقة مع لوحات P67 و H67 الحالية
