أمثلة كثيرة لربط الشبكات الواسعة منها :
-VPN:Virtual Private Network
Virtual private network, a private data network that makes use of the public telecommunication infrastructure, maintaining privacy through the use of a tunneling protocol and security procedures.
-Frame Relay
Wide area network service that provides switched ("on-and-off") connections between distant locations.
-Leased Line
A dedicated telephone line that is rented for exclusive 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week use from one location to another
-ADSL:Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line
A technology for transmitting digital information at high bandwidths on existing phone lines to homes and businesses
- ATM:Asynchronous Transfer Mode
This is the international standard for cell relay in which multiple service types (such as voice, video, or data) are conveyed in fixed-length (53-byte) cells. Fixed-length cells allow cell processing to occur in hardware, thereby reducing transit delays. ATM is designed to take advantage of high-speed transmission media.
