Bugs are unavoidable when it comes to large pieces of code. Companies do its best to make sure that their products are bug free however there is no way to gurantee that this will be 100% true. In 1990 Intel found that they have a serious bug with their Pentium processor. Intel ended up recalling all sold processors and this cost about $500 millions. If such scenario happens today, Intel will go out of business. In the mean time, processors are getting more complex and the chance of bugs are even higher. What methodology Intel uses today to deal with a discovered bug in its processors that made it to the market?
