The Certification Security team is committed to combating those that attempt to lie, cheat, and steal their way into Cisco Certifications.
With the rise in status and popularity of the various Cisco certifications, a criminal element has emerged. Two actually. First are those people who want to bypass doing the actual work and proving their knowledge of networking. They want a quick and dirty way to obtain a Cisco certification, some without ever having even seen a router.
The other group consists of those who want to profit from this market. Sometimes they attempt to steal the exams and sell them on the black market. Other times they offer their services as hired guns, people who will take the test posing as you.
All of this leads to a loss of revenue for the company and a devaluing of Cisco's certifications, brand, and reputation. We want a Cisco certification to be a symbol of talent and intelligence, a sign that you know your stuff. It could be difficult to maintain that if there are people out there who shelled out some cash for a fraudulent degree, but who couldn't even plug in an Ethernet cable. Would you fly an airline if there was a chance that your pilot got his license from a vending machine?
And this is where we come in. We work to prevent the theft and sale of Cisco exams and also to ensure that the only people who have certifications are the ones who have earned it.
