اخواني معالجي q6600 GO
tCase is the temperature at the IHS, max 71C for a G0 stepping Q6600.
tJunction is the temperature at the core, internal sensor. This is the per core temperature reading you see in Speedfan, Everest, etc. This is a calculated result, as the raw sensor data is tJunction delta - how many degrees below tJunctionMax is the core? tJunctionMax varies between 85C for some Core 2 Duo's, and 100C for some Core 2 Duo's and all current Quads (AFAIK!).
So as long as you know which measurement you're looking at, you're good.
FYI Intel Thermal Throttling (BIOS options) appears to be based on tJunction temp, if you use that as a safeguard.
I run my Intel X3210 Quad core (B3) stepping @ 3.12Ghz, a little above stock voltage. Hot room load is 75C tJunction, low 60's tCase. Reported through Speedfan.
There are millions of reasons why an opteron is less able to disspiate heat than a Core 2.... different design, different IHS attaching method, different substrates, the list goes on. The answer is 'it just does.'
