HD 5670 Compared to GT 240
Looking back at the performance evaluated, we find that in every game the ATI Radeon HD 5670 provides faster framerates and allows us to improve image quality over the GeForce GT 240.
In
DiRT 2 the Radeon HD 5670 runs in DX11 by default and allows us to have Ambient Occlusion enabled at "Low." The GeForce GT 240 can only run in DX9 in this game, and has no such Ambient Occlusion option. The ATI Radeon HD 5670 is able to run with features the GeForce GT 240 is not. In
Crysis: Warhead we were able to have many of the in-game settings on the "Gamer" setting at 1680x1050 with the ATI Radeon HD 5670, versus all "Mainstream" on the GeForce GT 240. This improves the visual quality in this game quite noticeably, and provides a richer experience.
In
Need for Speed: SHIFT we find that we can enable antialiasing at 1920x1200 with the ATI Radeon HD 5670, whereas the GeForce GT 240 had to play with none. Even with AA enabled, the Radeon HD 5670 just felt smoother in NFS SHIFT. In
Left 4 Dead 2 we found that we could run with a much higher 4X AA at 1920x1200, versus No AA on the GeForce GT 240. When all is said and done, the ATI Radeon HD 5670 provides higher in-game quality settings and higher AA settings than the GeForce GT 240. These visual improvements lead to a much more enjoyable gameplay experience.
